There are a bunch

of books coming out right now (some of which are endorsed by P.J. O'Rourke!) discussing the "demographic crises" in Europe, particularly the idea that a Muslim-majority Europe is imminent.

I'm going to be honest, if European nations were truly on the verge of religious Muslim dominance, this would be a somewhat troubling fact. It would beg the question of how one reconciles democratic principles with the possibility that the population would endorse Shiite Law or something like that.

BUT, here is the problem...IT ISN'T TRUE!

this is the problem with so many conservative arguments, they end up defining the conversation, but too often it is based on misinterpretation (if we are being charitable) or outright malicious falsehood (if we are not).

The most dramatic possible projections involve a 20 percent Muslim population AT THE MOST in Europe in 50 years.

So a conversation that seems like it is something uncomfortable but potentially important ends up being another way for racists to vent their fears of immigration based on nothing.
